MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

The mission of the Department of Biological Sciences parallels that of Hunter College: to provide a quality education for our undergraduate and graduate students, enabling them to participate productively in their chosen pursuits. The Department actively encourages specific careers such as academic and industrial research, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and college and high school teaching. At the same time, the Department takes a leading role in promoting the college-wide goals of broadening and deepening an individual's outlook, and of heightening intellectual creativity.
